does k-meleon block so very much ram as firefox? t2363

like it's based on firefox, does it mess up the same by blocking imense ram by not active tabs?
in my opinion every browser should at least allow to disable blocking ram by not used tabs, in advanced settings!
i think the remark it since the begining of firefox or browsers.
